Privacy Policy

Virtual Hosting Company (Virt-Host) established the following Privacy Policy to demonstrate the Commitment we have for our Clients, Customers, and the Users accessing our Servers; hereinto known as The Client. This privacy policy governs the manner in which Virt-Host uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from The Client accessing our services.

Section 1 – Privacy

Virt-Host is committed to developing long-lasting relationships based on trust. In order to establish this goal, Virt-Host will do anything in its power to ensure that your right to privacy is maintained and protected. The services Virt-Host offers are not directed towards, or offered to, children under thirteen (13) years of age. Any child interested in utilizing Virt-Host Services or Solutions must have a parent or guardian as a Point-Of-Contact used for the account.

Section 2 – Information We Collect

Virt-Host may request and collect personal information from The Client in a variety of ways. Such ways might include online forms for ordering, provisions of services, and other instances where such information may be needed.

The information collected is personal information that identifies The Client. It includes:

  • Name
  • E-mail Address
  • Physical Address
  • Phone Number
  • Account Information
  • Payment Information (We utilize Third Party Payment Processing vendors, including PayPal, Stripe, and Square, to handle online transactions. This allows Virt-Host to accept Credit Card and e-Check payments in real-time, allowing The Client to obtain services with less delay. Additionally, Virt-Host accepts Money Orders and Cashiers Checks for payment through the address and information provided on the Orders page. Please note the Third Party Payment Processing Vendors we use may have their own Privacy Policies. Users are expected to review and adhere to the Terms and Conditions, Acceptable Use, and Privacy Policies of the Third Party Vendors as well as the Policies in place for Virt-Host.

Virt-Host also collects information on the methods The Client uses to access the various services being offered. This includes, but is not limited to, accessing the websites, control panels, e-mail servers, and other services. Virt-Host monitors such information through the various logs generated by accessing such systems.

Section 3 – Log Files

Like most companies, Virt-Host uses Log Files. The information stored within these Log Files include the IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type, referring/exit pages, Operating System, Timestamp (Date and Time of visit), and the number of clicks. This information is used for trend analysis, user tracking, demographic information, and administrative purposes. However, none of the information stored in these Log Files is linked directed to personally identifiable information.

On June 3rd, 2012, Virt-Host implemented a Notification System for all of our Clients accessing our Shell Account Solutions. This notification system is designed to maintain the security of The Client account by optionally e-mailing the client (at a specified e-mail address) login details at each SSH login. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Time
  • Date
  • IP / Hostname at time of login
  • Previous 5 Logins
  • Limit Warnings (if applicable)
  • Active Process Listing
  • History Notifications

The Client may, at their own discretion, enable and disable the automatic notification to their e-mail by typing “Notify” in their SSH Client and following the prompts. For security reasons, the information listed above is retained indefinitely.

Section 4 – How We Use This Information

Virt-Host might use the personally identifiable information collected by Virt-Host to contact customers regarding products, services, solutions, and/or specials offered by Virt-Host. We may also use this information for research purposes, regarding the effectiveness of our website services, marketing, advertising, and sales efforts. Virt-Host will not, in any way, share this information with a third party, either for free or by selling it, unless The Client specifically authorizes such disclosers, unless related to fraud, illegal actions by the user, or by being served with a warrant for said information. Please note: The Client entering into this agreement with Fraudulent Information waives all rights as outlined in the Virtual Hosting Company Policies.

Section 5 – Disclosure Of Information

Virt-Host may also disclose aggregate, anonymous data based on information collected from users to potential customers. In such cases, only statistical information will be disclosed, and personally identifiable data will be kept strictly confidential. In case Virt-Host is sold, the information collected from The Client may be transferred to the new owner(s). If such is the case, The Client will be notified prior to such transfer.

Virt-Host may disclose fully identifiable information collected to Third Party Payment Vendors, as outlined in Section 1 of our Terms Of Service, specifically subsection 1.2.5 (Refusal of Payment).

Section 6 – Special Offers And Updates

Virt-Host customers and users will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and updates from Virt-Host‘s Sales, Service, and/or Billing Departments. These messages are sent in a “newsletters” format, providing accurate information and promotions for The Client that is subscribed to the Newsletter. Upon request, the user may be removed from the list of customers to be notified of new products, services, and specials.

Section 7 – Service Announcements

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. If, for instance, our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, our customers will be notified at the earliest possible time. These Service Announcements will be sent to all effected customers accessing the Virt-Host servers/services.

Section 8 – Legal Disclaimer

Although every effort to preserve a The Clients’ privacy is made, Virt-Host may be required to disclose personal information for legal purposes. Such cases might occur if a good-faith belief that such action is necessary, or as required to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on Virt-Host. In such instances, The Client will be notified such has occurred as soon as the order is served to Virt-Host.

Section 9 – Maintenance Of Information

The information provided to Virt-Host is saved indefinitely. It may be stored in multiple databases, directly or indirectly maintained by Virt-Host. Virt-Host incorporates the highest standards in security to maintain and protect the confidentiality of the information. While Virt-Host cannot guarantee that loss, misuse, or alteration of the data will not occur, we do make every effort to prevent such occurrences.

Section 10 – Client Responsibility

The Client is responsible for the security of The Client‘s Login and Passwords. This information should be kept in a safe place and not shared with any other users. The Client should always remember to log out of the Virt-Host server upon completion of their tasks, to ensure that other users cannot access their personal information. The Client should take this precaution regardless of location and security of the system used to connect.
